About Ann

Who is Ann Totten?

I  first entered the Network Marketing industry about 5 years ago…quite by accident.   So, lets start with a little more on what I was doing before then.

I have been married to Bill for about 27 1/2  28 years now.

We have 4 kids, ranging in age 17-23.   I have been a computer programmer, working full time for just over 20 years.   So, to say the least, I had not had much time for a business of my own.

But, about 5 years ago, it seemed like some of my “free time” came back.   Well, sort of.   I had been thinking for a while that I should start some kind of business.   I knew that if I wanted to travel and possibly spent more time at the beach..let alone help out my kids with their college expenses, then our salaries just were not going to make it.

So, I thought about what I was good at.  I was good at baking.   Well, after my husband  told a friend about my thoughts, she approached me about starting a home based business with her company.   And I did.  It just made sense to me.  It was “turn key”, I was not actually making the products and I would be working with friends.

I did not know the first thing about Network Marketing.   I did what my friend and sponsor told me to do.   I went to meetings, asked friends to go to meetings with me.   I was talking to people who did not even have starting a business on their radar.   I took people out to lunch and went through a flip chart while they ate.   And I did OK.  For about 6 months.

Something was just not quite right.   I felt that I was approaching people who were not the least bit interested in what I had to say.   So, after a while, I stopped talking to people.   And, you guessed it, my business died a slow death.

But, I was still a firm believer in the industry of network marketing.   With my 20+ years in corporate America, I know competition.   I know what it is like to work for someone else.   I know that if I train someone else really well, I may be looking for a new job sooner than I planned.   I also know that in Network Marketing, the better I train someone, the better I’ll do.

So, although I had about a year of not working in Network Marketing, I decided to start back up when the opportunity looked and felt right to me.   There were a few things that I was looking for in a business and found it Sept. 2009.

I wanted a company that was relative new, so I could build while it was still in it’s early formation stages.   I also wanted a business that had consumable products and one that got people on an autoship program right away.

One of the things that I wanted to do differently this time around was to have much more online presence.    Previously, I purchased leads and then tracked them down.   I knew that there had to be a better way.  I knew that there must be people out there using the internet to search for what I have to offer.

Have you had some of the frustrations that I had?   Are you also thinking that there has to be a better way?

Would you like to find out more about the system I use to successfully market my businesses online?

I enjoy time with my  family before all else.
I am thankful for all that I have.

I am still working on me.
